Nick Watson

Nick Watson received an Honours degree in Archaeology and Geology from the University of Bristol, where he subsequently worked in environmental archaeology under Professor Martin Bell before leaving the UK to live in Spain.

Nick’s research interests focus on Spanish Mudéjar and Romanesque architecture and the evolution of the Mediterranean landscape, and while in Spain he worked on prehistoric, Roman and medieval sites. He spent several years recording the Hospitaller buildings in Ambel, Province of Zaragoza in Aragón, published by Chris Gerrard in 2002.

In 2010, Nick returned to the UK to work for ARCA as a geoarchaeologist, with a particular focus on sedimentary analysis.
